Erin Therese Kim
Erin Therese Kim is a musician, artist, and
future counselor living in Albuquerque,
New Mexico.
She was born in Anchorage, Alaska in
1997 and lived there as a cellist, music
educator, and acrylic abstract painter
for the most part of her early adult life.
She has since grown to improvise more
on the piano, taught at various music
schools in multiple states, and have
explored other mediums of art, such as
oil painting and digital art.

Beginning to play the cello at the age of ten with Sue Waltman, she later took
private cello lessons with Kevin Charlestream, Linda Ottum, and Dr. John Lutterman. ​In high school, she had a chance to travel to Europe (Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Austria, and Hungary) to perform with the Anchorage Youth Symphony, for which she was the Principal Cellist for two years. She also participated in the Alaska State Solo and Ensemble Festival every year, and
performed for the Alaska Command Performance in 2014.
In college at the University of Alaska Anchorage, she participated in five symphonies: The Anchorage Symphony, Anchorage Civic Orchestra, Anchorage Bowl Chamber Orchestra, UAA Sinfonia, and the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra.
She also performed the Haydn Cello Concerto in D Major with the Sinfonia orchestra in 2018, and participated in string ensemble groups every year.

At UAA, she received five scholarships: The UA Scholar, The ACPE Alaska
Performance Scholarship, UAA Excellence in Music Scholarship, Alaska Community Foundation: Frank and Carol Pinkerton Endowment, and the Soroptimist International of Anchorage: Rose Kapingen Grant ($10K).
After a few years of working after graduating, Erin then moved away to Albuquerque, New Mexico for graduate school for Architecture at The
University of New Mexico, School of Architecture + Planning. However, it soon​
became apparent that counseling was her true field of passion, and has since transferred to the University of the Southwest.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her dog, Mateo.
